"paper bag princess"

“In the harsh times of recession, a fashionista must be inventive to look ‘designer’ without spending much money. The September 2009 issue of W magazine shows us how to do that with the help of empty designer bags in the editorial ‘Paper Bag Princess.’ The editorial features model Sasha Pivovarova, with photography by Craig McDean and styling by Alex White.”

appropriate.

On a personal note, I always seem to underestimate the epicness that is duke tailgate… (minus showering in beer about a million times over and over. most common question: “are you sweating or is that beer?” “it’s beer.”) and britney in greensboro.. almost as fab. catherine’s kraft cheese analogy was perfect for her show- good, processed, comes orchestrated/packaged perfectly and same every single time.

"Then I take a mental note

of what happened… and get over it. MOVE ON.” i gotta get better at this.

Now I’ve finally got some time to sit down and reflect on the ridiculousness that’s been going on these past 2 weeks. Let’s see— the apartment is beautifully set up thanks to the roommate’s family + love seeing everyone on campus again + getting the hang of living off campus sans personal transportation +DUU is off to a great programming start, except I’ve been a total slacker.

And of course I haven’t finalized my classes yet, given my indecisive nature of weighing the pro’s and con’s for everything. But so far all my classes are interesting.. and I’m finally getting to take those psych and info science classes I’ve been wanting to take :) Good deal.

Annoynaces:
- everyone keeps asking me what i’m gonna do after graduation. I mean, I’ve got a vague idea… key word being “vague.” i know what i want to do, but what i want isn’t necessarily what i’m going to get as i’ve learned in the past… so we’ll see
- sickness. (missed WALE last night and will be missing a variety of celebrations this weekend, FML.)

Best things:
- having my friends back on campus.. i’ve missed them so in new york and in california and it feels SO GOOD to be reunited!
- having my own gym, living space + reading space
- all my professors are brilliant. for me, that’s the make or break for whether i enjoy/perform well in the class
- woman-ing up and finally dealing with something that’s been nagging me for the pat 2.5 months
